Tag Order Deadlines:
Sheep/Goat: April 7
Steer/Heifer: April 7
Swine: April 28
Validation Dates:
Steer/Heifer Validation: June 17, 4:00pm-7:00pm, at Galveston County Fairgrounds
Sheep/Goat/Swine Validation: June 25 at Santa Fe Ag Barn
-Sheep/Goat: 4:00pm-5:30pm
-Swine: 5:30pm-6:30pm
Sheep/Goat:
Fall 2026 major show sheep/goats MUST validate in June; Optional for Spring 2027 sheep/goats - another validation will be offered in October.
Market sheep/goats validated in June for Fall 2026 shows will remain validated for Spring 2027 shows
If a TGBA/TLBA tag is added after validation, the animal must purchase a new tag and revalidate the next validation period.
Previously major show validated breeding animals (registered, wether/commercial) do NOT need to be validated again UNLESS ownership has changed. They remain eligible for 3 years.
Original registration papers for breeding sheep/goats must be in exhibitor’s name by June 30.
Heifer:
Fall 2026 major show heifers MUST validate in June; Optional for Spring 2027 heifers - another validation will be offered in October.
Previously major show validated heifers do NOT need to be validated again UNLESS ownership has changed.
Original registration papers must be in exhibitor’s name by June 30.
Steer:
Fall 2026 & Spring 2027 major show steers MUST validate in June. There are NO other options for major show steer validation.
Swine:
Fall 2026 major show swine MUST validate in June. Spring 2027 swine will validate in November.
Original registration papers must be in the exhibitor’s name by June 30.
