SWINE VALIDATION

Date: Thursday, June 25, 2026

Time: 5:30-6:30pm

Where: Santa Fe Ag Barn (13405 4th 1/2 St. Santa Fe, TX 77510)

If you are no longer validating an animal that you bought a tag for, please email darla.cox@co.galveston.tx.us and let her know.

Bring to Validation:

• Pig

• Registration Papers (for breeding gilts)

• Parent/Guardian – must be present to sign paperwork

  • Parents unable to attend validation must come to the Extension Office BEFORE validation to sign a waiver

• Exhibitor – should be present to sign paperwork

  • Parents may sign for exhibitor if child cannot attend

Breeding Gilts - To-Do Before Validation:

1. Obtain original registration papers that meet ownership requirements

   • 1. 1. 1. • Only exhibitor(s) as owner(s) with no ranch/farm names

              • Ownership dates must be on or before June 30

2. Verify that identifying markings (notches) exactly match what is on registration papers. If they don’t match, you can:

   • Change registration papers to match animal BEFORE validation

   • Change animal to match registration papers

3. Submit a color copy of registration papers to County Extension Agent/Ag Teacher.
